Caledon Natural Area

Rules and Regulations to know Before you Visit

You are entering an environmentally sensitive area.  To insure the integrity of the area and insure that you as well as others have a safe and pleasant visit, we have developed rules and regulations that need to be followed by all visitors to the park.

-Pets are allowed in the park, but must remain leashed on no longer than a 6 foot leash at all times.  This is in place to protect the wildlife of the area, other visitors and your pet.

-Please stay on marked trails and avoid areas marked with sensitive habitat signage.  Going off trail not only damages the flora underfoot, you are prone to insect bites, snake bites or other serious wounds that can cause serious ailments.  We have 2,579 acres and there is always the possibility of becoming lost.

-Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

-Please use trash receptacles when getting rid of waste.  This is a natural area, and litter is not natural.

-The natural area opens at 8am and closes at sunset.  Please make sure to allow yourself enough time to make it back to your vehicle before the park closes.

-Open fires are permitted only in the picnic area grills. Personal portable grills are permitted but only in the picnic area.

-Collecting of and/or vandalism to any plant or animal life is strictly prohibited.

-Trails are limited to walking only.  Bikes and motorized vehicles are not permitted on trails.

-Wading, swimming or fishing in the Potomac River or wetlands at Caledon is prohibited.
